I like to have a good time in therapy.

Grief therapy doesn’t have to be a bummer. We’ll definitely hold space for the sadness, anger, and loneliness that come with grief. I’m no stranger to that. But I also love balancing that with funny stories about your dead loved ones, easing into session by recapping the latest episode of the reality TV show we both like, or ending session by identifying how you’re gonna treat yourself afterward.

Therapy is hard work. Grieving is even harder. Why not sprinkle in a good metaphor, restaurant recommendation, or simply a good laugh throughout the process?

We’ll be a good match if you are…

  • A Millennial (not to say I don’t love my Gen Z clients, but Millennials just get me, and I them)

  • Ready to unpack your grief with honesty

  • A pet person (and I hope they come to session!)

  • A visual learner

  • Value concrete action steps alongside your therapeutic insight

  • Working to dismantle oppressive systems both internally and externally

  • Drawn to astrology, tarot, and other ways of knowing (my big three are Cancer, Pisces, and Leo, if you’re curious!)

  • Interested in pop culture, emo, and boy bands, and want to bring them into session

The Logistics

  • We’ll start with weekly sessions for at least 6 months. This helps us review your history (aka the decades of life you’ve lived before meeting me) and build rapport.

  • The therapeutic cadence depends on your needs, goals, and how much out-of-session work you can take on. Meeting less often requires more out-of-session work on your end. I meet weekly or biweekly after the first 6 months.

  • Sessions meet virtually for now (Office availability based on demand)

  • EMDR Therapy is always weekly. This aids in containing traumatic processing, ongoing resourcing, and proactive decision-making to ensure therapeutic success.

  • Monthly and one-off sessions are only available to long-term (2+ years) or returning clients who are not actively suicidal or homicidal. If you are experiencing acute emotional and psychological distress text or call the Suicide + Crisis hotline at 988 or visit your closest emergency room.

Fees & Out-Of-Network Insurance:

I am an Out-of-Network Provider. I do not bill insurance directly. I provide monthly superbills for you to file your claims directly with your insurance provider. Before we work together, I suggest you call your insurance provider to understand your out-of-network benefits, including your deductible and reimbursement rate.

Individual Therapy Rates:

Learn more about how I determine my sliding scale rates

Pay-It-Forward Rate: $265 per 50-minute session

Standard rate: $250 per 50-minute session

Sustainable rate: $220 per 50-minute session

Limited Sliding-Scale/Below-Scale rates based on availability: $180-200

Next Steps:

  • Schedule a phone consultation

  • If we decide to work together, we’ll get all the paperwork out of the way (consent forms, client portal, payment methods)

  • First session time! We’ll use this time to learn more about each other, catch up on the life you’ve lived so far, how these experiences may be affecting your life now, and plan how we’ll help going forward.
